Thank you www.change.ph Today is Jose Rizal’s birthday. What present will you give him? More than 2,000 people have joined Carlos Cedran’s campaign about DMCI’s planned ‘Torre de Manila’, which he says could destroy views through historic Rizal Park and the National Hero’s Shrine.
Thanks to you, and everyone else who signed the petition, it has been all over the news and is causing a stir on social media. Carlos believes the current design of DMCI tower will dishonor Rizal’s memory and insult Filipino national pride. Today, when Pinoys celebrate his birthday, the media will be paying attention to stories about Jose Rizal, and it’s a unique opportunity to pressure DMCI to respond to community outrage over the tower design. Join Carlos and post on DMCI’s facebook page to tell them what you think about Torre de Manila. DMCI has more than 30,000 fans on Facebook, and it’s important for the company’s sales and public relations.
On Rizal’s birthday they won’t be able to ignore dozens of posts from people who care about his legacy. Join Carlos now and tell DMCI to review the design of the condominium. Here are some examples from Carlos of what you could say: 1. In honor of Jose Rizal, please redesign Torre de Manila so it doesn’t destroy sight lines across historic Rizal Park. Respect Filipino heritage. 2. More than 2,000 have already signed our names in opposition to the Torre de Manila. On Jose Rizal’s birthday, tell us what you will do about the impact on Rizal Park and the hero’s monument? 3. I support Carlos Cedran’s campaign and say ‘NO’ to the Torre de Manila.
Today, on the anniversary of Rizal’s birthday, Carlos is asking people to post on DMCI’s wall where everyone can see. Executives at DMCI won’t have seen this new ‘facebook bomb’ before, and everyone will be watching to see how they respond to people power in social media.
